We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a new Managed Services company. In
this role, you will plan, test, and implement upgrades of our customer’s information systems.
These upgrades include software and application integration and hardware configuration. After
system changes, you will perform tests and help resolve any user or technical issues. Other
functions of this role include scripting or automating certain tasks and processes to increase
efficiency. Our ideal candidate has 5-12 years of professional administration experience and is
comfortable using VMware to support virtualization, has had significant training and experience
with Windows Server, and Windows Desktops, and has experience in Linux. Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, test, and implement upgrades for information systems (Patching and Compliance)
- Integrate new software applications
- Manage Active Directory and GPO’s
- Manage user access
- Assist with virtualization
- Configure hardware
- Ensure routers and firewalls are working correctly
- Develop and apply best practices
- Resolve technical issues
- Coordinate with vendors as needed
- Run performance reports
- Understands the security frameworks necessary for the Intelligence Community
- Interact with end-users and customers to make sure the desktop experience and environment is healthy
- Implement and architect MFA, and VDI solutions Requirements and Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related STEM field preferable
- Systems administration experience (5-10 years preferred)
- Degree can be waved for right candidates with comparable experience
- Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with VMware Vsphere, and Horizon
- Comfortable working with various operating systems
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Willing to swim in many lanes and be cross-functional
- Target focused and willing to tackle hard challenges
- Enjoys building something new and finding solutions
- Understands STIG, and the RMF process, along with NIST security controls
