Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring our Community remains safe, functional, and welcoming for our residents, staff, and visitors. In this position, you’ll be a vital part of creating a home-like environment where our residents feel valued and cared for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure safety and compliance with all codes and regulations.
  • Complete work orders and room turns efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and respond to urgent maintenance requests.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.
  • Support efforts to maintain the community’s curb appeal, including landscaping, snow removal, and exterior upkeep.
  • Adhere to and promote a culture of safety, following all company policies and procedures.
  • Engage with residents, guests, and staff with a friendly and approachable demeanor, embodying our commitment to "unreasonable hospitality."

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance or a related field, preferably in a residential or healthcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
