FLSA Status: Exempt
Compensation: Anticipated Starting Salary $45,810 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, life and LTD insurance, FSA, HRA, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holidays, personal business, sick leave, and vacation.
Summary
Supervises a custodial department responsible for maintaining Museum buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly state for optimum operations. Includes scheduling staff, coordinating event set-up and take down, and maintaining inventory levels of required products, providing staff training, maintaining current knowledge of field improvements, and providing regular reports on performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Supervise and monitor staff to ensure compliance with best practices and OSHA regulations.
- Develop and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas.
- Conduct inspections to uphold Museum standards.
- Prepare and submit reports and memoranda on custodial policies and procedures.
- Research and recommend supply sources to optimize cost, safety, and efficiency.
- Manage custodial inventory and procurement.
- Identify and suggest suppliers or materials to improve value and effectiveness.
- Maintain required certifications for equipment and professional standards.
- Organize and conduct staff training to ensure proficiency in custodial methodologies.
- Coordinate facility setup and takedown requests.
- Regularly review and refine procedures and processes.
- Develop and oversee work schedules and shift assignments.
- Monitors the custodial budget. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Custodial Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma plus a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training, and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of OSHA standards.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or the ability to learn internet software, inventory software, payroll software, and Word processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have or be able to obtain an Arizona Driver's License.
