What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Machine Operator position at The Armor Group, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for operating one of the following: Presses, Grinders, Laser welders, Sintering press or other secondary metal processing equipment
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Perform in process checks on parts and minimize scrap
- Maintaining area cleanliness
- Perform work in line with quality requirements and ensure that parts are made to print
- Data entry on computer system
- Perform daily checks on machines
- Additional items as assigned by manager
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with other manufacturing personnel, project managers, and area supervisor.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of ability to operate various machines and secondary equipment
- Have basic knowledge of measurements using calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to be detail oriented
- Ability to be reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to work well in a team environment and individually

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School graduate or GED
- 1 year of experience operating stamping presses and secondary equipment
EQUIPMENT USED
This position will use an equipment for pressing, grinding, laser welding and processing equipment.
WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This position works on the manufacturing floor. They must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
