JOB SUMMARY
- This position will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting on inventory levels, trends, and projections, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve inventory management processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing processes and systems related to both finished goods and materials inventory management and reconciliation.
- Analyze finished goods and material inventory performance metrics, including product turnover and days of supply across all inventory locations.
- Partner with the Global Business Planning team to forecast demand and develop inventory plans that meet business needs.
- Monitor inventory levels, execute inter-warehouse transfers, and proactively address potential stock imbalances.
- Investigate and recommend solutions to inventory-related issues, including cycle counts and year-end physical inventory reconciliation.
- Develop and distribute regular finished goods and materials inventory reports to management on a regular basis.
- Identify excess and obsolete inventory for appropriate action (use up or disposition).
- Export and analyze data for the material procurement model, providing insights to the Supply Chain team.
- Leverage data manipulation skills to extract, clean, and transform inventory data for analysis and reporting.
- Manage inventory targets (including safety stock levels) that are approved by management.
- Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets).
- Drives and analyzes cycle count program
- Support the procurement process for materials and components by coordinating with internal teams to ensure material availability for production.
- Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality).
- Issue Pos for both raw material and consumables/non-inventoriable stock.
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with Customers, Outside Sales Reps, Vendors, Engineering, Operations, Product Managers, Accounting, Receiving, Quality, and Production.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Basic familiarity with drawings and specifications.
- Strong, cross-functional communication skills, detail oriented, MS office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable working with ERP systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to establish rapport.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing commodity assignments.
- Understanding of MRP planning.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors or Associates degree required.
- 5 years of experience as Buyer in Manufacturing Environment.
