What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Clerk position at The Armor Group, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY
The Receiving Clerk is in charge of counting, sorting and weighing incoming materials to verify receipt of items against shipping notices.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspecting, accepting, or rejecting goods received
- Inputting stock items into the computer
- Storing items in the assigned location in or around the warehouse
- Marking inventory codes on goods using proper labeling equipment
- Verifying quality control parts
- Pulling and issuing parts for the production floor as needed
- Additional items as assigned by Supervisor
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with other departments including shipping, welders, assemblers, project managers and suppliers.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Forklift operation
- Courteous, professional interpersonal skills to communicate with employees and suppliers
- Time management skills
- Accurate mathematical skills for counting inventory
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
- Must obtain internal certification to drive a forklift

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of experience of prior receiving, stockroom and manufacturing experience is preferred
EQUIPMENT USED
This position uses a fork truck, various lift assist devices, computer.
WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
Work will be performed on the manufacturing floor. Some lifting, climbing and kneeling are required.
