What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at The Armor Group?
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for Armor's Quality Management Systems and its related compliance. The Quality Assurance Manager manages quality policies, procedures, processes, programs, and best practices to assure a quality system of continuous improvement, conformance and effectiveness.
Responsibilities include :
- Daily management of the company's ISO 9001 : 2008 Quality System including assuring continued compliance to the standard and management of the 3rd party audit process. Acts as the Management Representative for ISO 9001.
- Daily management of Quality department personnel and the company's quality inspection and product release processes, including in-process inspections as well as inbound raw materials and vendor supplied products
- Management of the Corrective Action Process to insure execution of permanent solutions to resolve known quality issues
- Development of proactive quality assurance plans by identifying critical process control points and preventative measures, establishes critical control process limits, and monitors operational procedures
- Validation of quality processes and effectiveness through surveillance audits, investigating customer complaints, and collaborating with Operations to insure adequate manufacturing and training methods
- Development, analysis, and management of the company's cost of poor quality and other quality related Key Performance Initiatives (KPI's)
- Sign-off on the Ship Release Form ensuring that all Quality checklists have been completed to assure no to low warranty cost realization.
- Manage all instrument calibrations
- Handle all PPAP, ISIR, and compliances and certifications
- Additional items as assigned by manager
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE / OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with the Director of Engineering, Plant Manager, Director of Project Management, Project Managers, Manufacturing Supervisors, Shop Personnel, HR Director, Division Presidents, Quality Inspectors, and Customers.
