Army Barracks is a unique Army/Navy retail store open to the public.
While specializing in military surplus, camping, survival and tactical gear plus airsoft guns and accessories ~ we offer a lot more with a large variety of mens, women’s and children’s clothing, headwear, boots, gloves, backpacks, knives, swords and many novelty items.
By joining our West Springfield Store you’ll be part of an interesting and successful retail business that has been around more than 40 years.

As part of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, daily operations, staff management, and overall productivity.
This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think outside the box. With an emphasis on customer satisfaction and profitability, you'll be involved in all aspects of operations and merchandising of the store while fostering a positive and successful working environment.

Requirements:
- Prefer at least 2 yrs retail store experience (a min. 1yr of successful retail mgmt experience is ideal)
- Flexibility to work retail hours including nights, weekends and some holidays
- Exceptional customer service skills, a good work ethic, reliable, and a sense of integrity
- Ability to lift a minimum 40lbs, stand/walk for extended periods of time, and occasionally climb ladders
Responsibilities and Skills:
- Having a hands on approach to support your staff and customers.
- Ensure customers are warmly welcomed.
- Think on your feet and exercise good judgment to adapt to the needs of each customer and in handling unusual requests or difficult customer interactions.
- Managing and promoting product movement through merchandising, ordering, inventory, and receiving.
- Creating an environment in which consumers are eager and excited to spend time browsing the shelves.
- Supporting your team and taking pride in maintaining a pleasant environment for all.
- Establishing and fostering effective communication with staff, management, and customers
- Hiring and training the right people in order to meet store goals
- Planning, implementing, and overseeing all daily operations
- Opening and closing the store
