The Art Center Highland Park is looking for an experienced Mosaics Instructor to teach intermediate to advanced adult classes.

The Art Center, a not-for-profit organization, is the North Shore’s home for artistic discovery and creative exploration. Through innovative programs, exhibitions, and classes designed for all levels and ages, The Art Center provides a welcoming space for our diverse communities to experience and participate in the arts.
Although focused on the visual arts, TAC has expanded its mission to include arts in all forms such as writing, acting, performance, and the like.
The Art Center is located in Highland Park, a 45 -60-minute drive north of Chicago, and is a 10-minute walk from the Highland Park, UPN Metra Train stop.
TAC Mosaics
TAC offers Mosaics classes for both youth and adults, Monday through Friday. Adult classes run for 2-3 hours, 9 am -12 pm or 9:30-12:30 pm, 12:30-3:30 pm or 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm or 6:30-9:30 pm. Youth classes run 4-5:30 pm or 4-6 pm during the school year.
Requirements:
· Must have studied Mosaics – or equivalent experience - working in Mosaics medium.
· Be available to teach at intermediate to Advanced adult classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturdays.
· Have at least 1 year’s experience teaching adults
· Be comfortable teaching different skill levels in one class.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
· Experience teaching or working with adults of all ages and backgrounds.
· Experience working and teaching with Hammer and Hardie, Smalti, marble, and stone.
· Experience teaching in a recreational/non-academic environment is a plus
This is an independent contractor position. TAC does not compensate for travel time, travel expenses, prep or clean-up time. Applicants will be reviewed until the position is filled.
