What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Program DSP (Caregiver) position at THE ART OF LIVING?
The Art of Living Community & Support Services is seeking skilled, dependable, and caring professionals to assist with providing on-going direct support to adults with developmental disabilities in our facility. Applicant must have at least 1 year work experience with the Adult Developmentally Disabled/Mental Health needs in a facility.
We are looking to fill the following vacancies:
- Part-time: Every other weekend.
- 12- hour shifts (8 pm - 8 am)
- $13 per hour
Applicant must have and provide proof upon hire:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pre-Employment Physical with TB screening
- 10 Year MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Must be willing to complete Criminal background check
- Must be willing to complete Drug Screen check
- Must be able to type and utilize a computer/internet/Microsoft word
- Must be able to complete mandatory online computer training courses
- Must be willing to take CPR and First Aid
- Must have at least 1 year experience working with developmentally disabled/mental health diagnosis individuals.
- Must be willing to take and pass the Medication Technician Program.
Responsibilities:
- Residential Program: Supporting individuals in a residential facility setting providing assistance with meal prep, medication administration, and assistance with daily ADL's
- Monitoring individual's condition by observing physical and mental state;
- Recording individual's information by making entries in daily electronic system, notifying supervisor of changes or abnormal activity;
- Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy environment by following agency and state policy and procedures.
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks by following dietary requirement and nutrition standards;
- Assisting with the self-administration of medications;
- Assisting with toileting, feeding and other support needs as requested.
- Participating in routine training opportunities;
- Ensuring that the agency remains in compliance by adhering to professional standards, CRCF facility/DDSN program policies, procedures and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be able to utilize computer/internet/Microsoft word to properly chart daily notes onto client database.
- Must be willing to drive agency vehicle/bus when requested.
- Willing to go out in the community for activities
