Duties
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as measuring visual acuity, taking vital signs, and performing ocular assessments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
- Handle medical billing processes and ensure accurate coding for insurance claims.
- Manage inventory of optical supplies and equipment maintenance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with the optometry team to enhance patient experience and office efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to eye care and ophthalmology.
- Familiarity with retail math for managing sales transactions effectively.
- Experience with medical billing procedures and insurance claims processing.
