Housekeeper (Full Time Day Shift)
Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Weekdays with one weekend a month and rotating holidays.
The Housekeeping staff is responsible for the cleanliness and disinfecting of virtually every area of The Arthur Home with the exception of the kitchen. Job requires one to work in considerate and polite way toward both resident and their family and also the nursing staff as not to interrupt the required care of the resident.
The chosen candidate will also be trained to work in the laundry department when needed.
The Arthur Home is a not-for-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Arthur, IL. serving the senior citizen population. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily sweeping and wet mopping of halls, dining rooms, resident rooms, bathrooms, and all the extra areas with the exception of the kitchen; general room cleaning such as dusting furniture, making beds, moving furniture to clean, mirrors and bathroom disinfection; and knowledge of chemicals used and proper use of them to achieve infection control, and any other duties assigned by administration.
Previous experience is beneficial, but not essential. Must be able to read, write, communicate, and follow directions. Need to be able to learn the products used and the proper way in which they are used for infection control. Standing and walking is required for most of the eight hour shift, with the exception of breaks. Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying; occasionally ladder climbing is required.
