BASIC FUNCTIONS |
As an Inventory Control Specialist within our food manufacturing company, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient inventory management processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the accurate tracking, monitoring, and maintenance of all inventory levels within our facility. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to collaborate with various departments will be essential in maintaining optimal inventory control practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Inventory Monitoring and Analysis:
- Utilize inventory management software and tools to monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and analyze inventory trends.
- Conduct regular audits and physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory data to identify potential issues or areas for improvement in inventory control processes.
- Inventory Replenishment and Ordering:
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to forecast inventory needs based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and historical data.
- Monitor lead times, supplier performance, and delivery schedules to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Inventory Optimization:
- Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess stock, and reduce carrying costs while ensuring adequate stock availability to meet production and customer demand.
- Analyze slow-moving or obsolete inventory and work with relevant stakeholders to develop action plans for clearance or disposal.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, withdrawals, and adjustments.
- Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and inventory performance metrics for management review.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on inventory data analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement and Compliance:
- Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to inventory control, food safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and system enhancements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (2-3 years) in inventory control, supply chain management, or logistics within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices, inventory valuation methods, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
