What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Chef position at The Artisan's Palate?
The Artisan’s Palate is searching for a passionate, dedicated and motivated Line Chef/Prep Chef to prepare food to the chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food presentation and garnishing as well as a love of food preparation which is important for impressing our guests and creating repeat business. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals and will want to grow with our organization. Job Duties:
· Have a strong culinary foundation - including excellent knife skills, knowledge of cooking methods, etc
·Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
· Prepare food and portions for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
· Cook menu items in cooperation with the chef/owner
· Clean up station and ensure leftover food is properly taken care of
· Stock inventory appropriately
· Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
· Ensure that food comes out consistently, in high quality and in a timely fashion
· Maintain a clean work area by removing trash and cleaning utensils and equipment
· Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
· Stay guest focused and help everyone to nurture an excellent guest experience
Requirements, Qualifications & Physical Demands:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required (culinary school diploma preferred)
· Part-time schedule: Availability to work weekend nights, holidays and fill in when needed
· Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
· Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment. and procedures
· Familiar with industry’s best practices
· Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
· Strong task and time management abilities
· Positive attitude with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to read and understand spoken English
· ServSafe (or similar) Certification preferred
· Solid references

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
