Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement appropriate daily activities that meet the quality, interest, and needs of residents.
- Create the monthly activity calendar and newsletter for the assisted living and memory care neighborhoods.
- Complete at least six hours of continuing education each year regarding Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders.
- Organize and execute large and small parties and special events.
- Manage the departmental budget.
- Inform residents and staff of changes to scheduled programming in a timely manner.
- Evaluate programming quality and participation on an ongoing basis.
- Communicate with residents and families regarding participation and satisfaction with activity programs.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience coordinating activities for senior citizens in an assisted living and memory care community setting.
- Valid Texas Driver’s license and a clear driving history.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen test.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with good time management skills.
- Pleasant and friendly demeanor with an outgoing personality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word & Excel) and web navigation for research.
- Must meet TDADS qualifications.
- Available to work evenings and weekends as required for scheduled events.
- Participate in Manager on Duty rotation.
