Summer Camp 2025 Job Descriptions:
Qualifications:
Day Camp counselors should be local (within ~40 mins) to Pearlstone Retreat Center and have consistent transportation either directly to camp, or to one of the Day Camp bus stops.
All applicants should be responsible and enjoy working with children and spending time in nature.
Day Camp Senior Counselor (18-21 years old):
Engaging campers in activities that introduce them to the natural world.
Creating a safe space–physically and emotionally–for campers through proper supervision.
Planning and leading outdoor camp activities alone or with co-counselor(s) and specialists.
Supervising and participating in games, pool and creek activities, art workshops, cooking, and song sessions.
Helping with an immersive and meaningful Shabbat experience.
Setting up, breaking down, cleaning, and putting away all materials used.
Pay: $600/week ($650/week for returners)
Day Camp Junior Counselor (16-18 years old, rising 11-12 grade): *younger counselors may become junior counselors if they have successfully completed the CIT Program*
Engaging campers in activities that introduce them to the natural world.
Creating a safe space–physically and emotionally–for campers through proper supervision.
Supervising and participating in games, pool and creek activities, art workshops, cooking, and song sessions.
Helping with an immersive and meaningful Shabbat experience.

Pay: $300/week ($400/week for returners)
Day Camp Counselor-In-Training (14-16 years old, rising 9-10 grade): *counselors who successfully complete the CIT Program will be eligible to become Junior Counselors the next summer*

Creating a safe space–physically and emotionally–for campers through proper supervision.
Supervising and participating in games, pool and creek activities, art workshops, cooking, and song sessions.
Helping with an immersive and meaningful Shabbat experience.
Setting up, breaking down, cleaning, and putting away all materials used.
Learning how to thrive in a professional setting while enjoying a positive, upbeat, adventurous camp environment.
Building character, developing important life skills, learning to work on a team, resolving conflict and holding responsibility.
Training in unique Adamah Earth-based Jewish education techniques and connecting deeply to nature.
Pay: $250-300 stipend for successful completion of the CIT Program
Overnight Camp Counselor:
Engaging campers in activities that introduce them to the natural world.
Creating a safe space–physically and emotionally–for campers through proper supervision.
Planning and leading outdoor camp activities alone or with co-counselor(s) and specialists.
Supervising and participating in games, pool and creek activities, art workshops, cooking, and song sessions.
Helping with an immersive and meaningful Shabbat experience.
Setting up, breaking down, cleaning, and putting away all materials used.
Staying overnight in the bunkhouse (or Wilderness Village) with campers
Pay: $840/7-day session | $1320/11-day session
Songleader:
Facilitating two-three 45-minute music specialist blocks per day for day camp
Helping lead full-camp morning and closing circles, and post-lunch song circles
Facilitating prayers and songs during Shabbat Party every Friday afternoon of day camp
Helping facilitate Shabbat and Havdallah services during overnight camp
Assisting with supervision during full-camp activities like swim, theme week activities, high ropes course, and rock wall
Adding ruach (spirit) to every camp day and helping make every camper feel seen and heard and find their voice!
Pay: $700/week
