Lifeguard
This position will report to the Director of Guest Services and work alongside the Director of Facilities at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. The lifeguard will be seasonal. This position requires availability for day shifts on weekdays and weekends. Ideally looking for more than one lifeguard.
Job Summary
Perform Lifeguard duties at the pool i.e., swim, remain on high alert, etc.
Check and maintain First Aid/rescue equipment provided at the pool.
Establish and maintain respectful relations with guests.
Familiarize yourself with the phone and ensure it's working at the start of each shift.
Enforce state mandated safety guidelines and pool rules as posted.
Maintain walkie talkie within reach.
Ensure the drinking water dispenser is full and cups are available.
Empty automatic skimmers daily and as needed.
Maintain furniture and pool area in a clean and safe manner.
Clean restrooms daily while the pool is closed between lunch hours. This includes using provided cleaners, brushes, towels to clean toilets, urinals, sinks and showers. Sweep floors. (All cleaning supplies will be kept in the utility closet.)
Resupply pool towels daily.
Inform Director of Facilities of any needs for supplies or other pool related requests.
Skills:
Hold and maintain current certifications in Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid.
Experience (1-3 years) preferred.
Respond and remain professional when responding to guests’ inquiries.
General:
Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills, as well as provide excellent customer service.
Must maintain a professional demeanor.
Must be able to adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions:
This is a non-exempt position with work hours any day of the week. (Depending on needs of the event and program.)
