CHAI (Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.) has an immediate opening for a CHAIway Program Manager (CPM) who will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the CHAIway Transportation Program. The CPM will oversee CHAIway On the Go (OTG) and develop the CHAIway Volunteer Driver Program (VDP). They will recruit, engage, manage and retain program volunteers and riders and ensure the program is running smoothly, connecting with agency partners as appropriate, as well as manage the day-to-day operation of CHAIway. The CM will keep abreast of trends and best practices in volunteer management and older adult transportation.
As part of the CHAI Aging in Community (AIC) Team you will:
Work closely with older adults connected to our Aging in Community (AIC) work
Be a steward of the organization and develop strong relationships within the community
Help drive CHAI’s mission, fulfill our vision, and abide by our organization’s values
In this role you will manage CHAIway Transportation program by:
Overseeing the day-to-day functions of CHAIway including OTG and the VDP
Serving as lead contact for CHAIway including ride scheduling for the VDP
Recruiting and retaining riders
Soliciting feedback from drivers and riders and incorporate to improve program
Collecting data and complete all necessary reporting
Assisting with grant writing and funding opportunities as needed; Oversee program billing and ride scheduling platforms; other administrative tasks as needed
Recruiting, training and retaining drivers on an ongoing basis
Collaborating with Marketing Director to promote program
Refining and managing volunteer onboarding process, including interviews, training and background checks
Managing flow of rides
Formalizing and implementing volunteer retention plan; lead volunteer appreciation effort and driver incentives
Collaborating with internal and external partners
Applicants will have:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university preferred
2 years’ experience in human services, transportation services and/or aging services
Flexibility in schedule
Additional Skills/Requirements:
Comfortable speaking to, and engaging with, individuals and groups; excellent customer service
Strong work ethic, goal-oriented
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written; builds trust
Takea initiative, is a self-starter, and uses good judgment in meeting the goals of this position
Demonstrates passion for serving older adults and have an understanding of the community CHAI serves
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and comfortable working with database system; open to learning new systems and processes
Problem-solver; outcomes oriented
Ability to work with a diverse group of people
Flexibility in schedule
Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion
Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60,000
Hybrid schedule – in the office at least 3 days per week to foster collaboration among colleagues.
