The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty excellence. Our newest colleague will join our highly motivated Web Operations team in advancing our mission through supporting the highest quality and reliability in web-related services.

Essential Functions Of The Role

Reporting to the Director of Web Operations, support The Association of Former Students through:

  • Creation of high impact front-end user interfaces.
  • Edit and publish pages on AggieNetwork.com.
  • Support WordPress sites for more than 100 classes, clubs, and constituent networks.
  • Resolve general web support emails and calls.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Coding in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • JavaScript libraries (Vue, React, etc.).
  • Maintaining website, through code or CMS.
  • Graphic design.

This position may be assigned other duties from time to time that align with the education, knowledge, skills and experience outlined in this job posting.

EMPLOYEES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER STUDENTS

  • Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.
  • Serve as an ambassador by meeting our Team Expectations, fostering relationships with students and other constituents of Texas A&M.
  • Exemplify our Core Values: Respect, Excellence, Loyalty, Leadership, Integrity, Service.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficient with WordPress.
  • Proficient with coding in JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Proficient with design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, etc.
  • Experience in graphic design.
  • Translate abstract ideas into web-based experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficient with JavaScript libraries (Vue, React, etc.).
  • Knowledge of web design best practices including user-centered and mobile-friendly design.

Physical Capacity Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for long periods on occasion and carry objects up to 10 pounds at events. Ability to work at a desk with frequent use of keyboard and monitor. EDUCATION & TRAINING

Required: Currently enrolled in university technology-related courses such as MIS, Computer Science, or similar.

Preferred: Currently enrolled as a student at Texas A&M University in College Station.
