Our client, a leading provider of transportation & logistics services, that has been providing smart logistics solutions for the world's leading retailers and manufacturers for 60 years, needs a Compliance Associate. This is a temp to hire opportunity located in Lyndhurst, NJ. Potential candidates must have reliable transportation.
In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our client’s operations comply with safety regulations and standards. This position involves analyzing safety data and assisting with compliance-related tasks.
Duties and responsibilities of the Compliance Associate:
· Monitor the Expiration Report daily, ensuring all drivers, owner operators and switchers are DOT compliant.
· Reviewing and updating all required documents in the AS400 such as Medical long forms, CDL, Bobtail & OCAC insurance, registrations, 90-day inspections and DOT Annual inspection report.
· Research drivers Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) and update their annual review.
· Scheduling a monthly Random drug and alcohol screening for company drivers and owner operators.
· Send out daily emails to terminals and managers reminding them of documents that are soon to expire.
· Managing HireRight billing account using an Excel spreadsheet and submitting the invoice for approval and payment.
· Clearing House – running an annual query on all drivers.
· Help develop and implement safety procedures and protocols.
· Assist with training employees on safety policies and procedures.
· Keep accurate records of safety-related activities and incidents.
· Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
· Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications for the Compliance Associate:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Basic computer skills, including data entry and analysis.
· Ability to work well in a team and independently.
· Interest in safety and regulatory compliance.
· Prior experience in safety or compliance is a plus but not required.
· Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5pm with a payrate of $20/hr. Candidates with at least 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
