Job Overview
We are seeking a Social Media Director to facilitate the daily conversation about our league, teams, world class athletes, and sponsors with a global audience across various social media platforms. The successful candidate is an experienced and strategic social media leader who can partner with our Marketing, Partnership, and Content teams to develop and execute impactful social content that will scale audience and engagement, deepen brand affinity, and drive viewership for Unrivaled games, events, and campaigns. Critically, this position can manage content across multiple brands (teams) and channels, lead creatives and producers who strive to deliver innovative, bar-raising content around WBB, and synthesize and share KPI reports with leadership, creatives, and other stakeholders to achieve our content and overall business goals. [This is a year-round, full-time position, based in Miami FL during season and remote / hybrid during the off-season.]
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Creation
- Partner with 6 teams to develop and execute social media content strategies around events, gamedays, practices, teams, players, and year-round Unrivaled League campaigns, social platforms, and brand initiatives that will drive engagement, brand awareness, and league growth.
- Build and manage the content plan and calendar, and coordinate daily and weekly communications with the social team, content creators, comms / PR team, and partnerships teams, so all personnel are aligned on timelines and content goals.
- Manage shooters / producers and ensure on time delivery of creative assets against the content plan.
- Curate and manage publication of social media content, including text, captions, audio, visual and multimedia formats consistent with our brand and platform goals.
- Manage Creator / Influencer Programs : Work closely with Marketing to identify and engage with relevant influencers, building strong relationships, and manage an expanding influencer program.
- Collaborate with third party content creators to generate assets for use across social media, email campaigns, and our website.
- Recommend ways to enhance the profiles of our players on social platforms.
- Ensure league events are programmed to maximize content capture opportunities, when possible.
- Partner with operations and legal to ensure IP compliance and rights management (e.g., licensing, photo releases).
