What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Service and Food Preparation Specialist position at The Athletic Edge Adventure Park?
As The Athletic Edge night bartender/cook you will be responsible for the bar/kitchen area and the eating areas. The Bartender/Food Server must possess an overall knowledge of AE operations including Barista, Bartender and Food Service and Prep. Each person will also need to know the recipes for our food service, take orders and serve all items, interact with customers, taking and assessing bar customer’s needs and preferences and making recommendations. helping to prepare food Is part of the job as well!!
CERTIFICATIONS
- Must have a Food Safety 1 (or obtain within 30 days of hire) and an OLCC current license to serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTS
- Be enthusiastic and provide above and beyond service. Help to promote a healthy and happy atmosphere behind the Bar area and on the floor.
- Participate in training where you will learn all ingredients we use, knowledge of our beverages, our menu, recipes and pricing. Doing your own recipes for Barista and/or bar must be pre-approved by the Department Manager.
- Be prompt and on time for your shift. Please clock in and out carefully and on time. It is your responsibility when ill to call in at least 2 hours before start time of shift and apply your best effort to find your own coverage.
- We recommend that you wear slip resist shoes for your safety.
- You will be trained in ingredients we use. It is up to you to ask patrons if anyone in the party has any allergies we need to be aware of. A training plan has been put in play for serving people with food allergens.
- Learn AE procedures in taking a person’s ID correctly. You will be trained in our incident log and it is your responsibility to report anything you feel needs further attention of AE managers. Check customer’s identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age. If you feel a patron is intoxicated to an unsafe level go to your Department Manager and report what you are seeing. Leave it to them to deal with the patron. It is a huge part of your job not to send someone out in the community that is too impaired to drive.
- Comply with all of AE health, safety and hygiene standards and policies, as well as all Food and Beverage Regulations set forth by all State Agencies.
- Comply with AE dress code. Clothing and personal hygiene must be kept to a standard that meets AE discretion.
- Interaction with your customer is very important. Getting clear orders, prepping and delivering food in a professional manner is key to your success and ours.
- Clean as you go. Keep the food/bar area fresh and appealing to the customer’s eyes. Keep everything stocked throughout your shift. Check the garbage cans throughout your shift and empty them as needed, washing dishes and bar glasses, cleaning tables, and provide a helping hand in all aspects of the Bar and Kitchen. TEAM is the key to success; no one has a free ride on their shift.
- Handle cash, credit cards and debit card transactions, ensure charges are correct and return correct change to patrons. Maintain customer tabs in the POS system correctly. It will be the Department Managers responsibility to balance the cash drawer every close. Please know that AE will prosecute anyone who does any illegal activity with a patrons personal ID or their cards.
- Make all drinks according to AE recipe standards. Over pouring alcohol and putting AE at risk or the patron at risk will result in termination of your job.
- Keep a work pace that has customers satisfied at all times. NO CELL PHONES or personal items will be allowed in the kitchen area. You will be provided a locker for your personal belongings. In case of an emergency instruct your family members to reach you at the front desk. You will be dismissed immediately to take the call for an emergency.
- Restock and replenish inventory and supplies. Help maintain an inventory list. Document the date and item in our Product to be Ordered Book when an item is depleted.
- Keep the grab and go fridge stocked throughout your shift. Remove any outdated items that may have been missed. Ensure everything is properly labeled and priced.
- Keep proper temperature log as needed during your shift on all refrigeration systems.
- Possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
