Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Aerospace Painter to join our dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will possess aerospace painting experience, excellent communication abilities, and strong mechanical aptitude. This role requires a keen attention to detail, adherence to customer specifications, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare parts for painting, including priming, applying topcoats, part marking, and wrapping for storage.
  • Promote a safe work environment by adhering to and demonstrating company safety policies.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring readiness for the following day, including proper documentation in shop logs.
  • Always Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
  • Ensure that all in-process paperwork is accurately completed and up to date.
  • Operate HVLP spray guns to apply paint finishes.
  • Follow all established procedures and guidelines to meet production and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, relevant to the role and scope of work.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of aerospace painting experience required.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand and work on foot for extended periods of time.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Quality minded individual.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Office and shop environment.
  • Eye protection is necessary while working on shop floor.
  • Some heavy lifting due to the movement of parts and check fixtures.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.

 

Education/Experience:

Three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (machine shop, weld shop, precision sheet metal, assembly shop) or equivalent.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

  • Efficient in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Team oriented
  • Detail oriented with meticulous work habits
