Aurora Vincent House School

As part of our growth strategy, we are really pleased to be opening a brand new SEND Secondary School in 2025 in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex for young neurodivergent people aged 11-16. Many students are working at - or close to - age expectations. Most of our students are coming to us from mainstream education to have access to an adapted National Curriculum delivered in small classes with a focus on meeting their sensory needs and support for their emotional wellbeing.

The Role:

This is a unique role in a unique school that will evolve as the school develops and will vary depending on the needs of each cohort. You will be responsible for offering and facilitating a range of  personalised physical activities that engage all of our students. A traditional Physical Education curriculum is not appropriate for many of our students who are aged 11-16 and therefore we require a teacher who is creative, flexible and who can teach an adapted PE curriculum both on and offsite. You will also be able to facilitate outdoor and adventurous activities. Some students will have the opportunity to do extra PE to support with their engagement in school and aiding their self-regulation. The role also includes opportunities for you to plan enrichment projects and days that support the interest of the students and to increase their life experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity where you would be integral to developing a unique SEND provision and building a bespoke curriculum with the support of Aurora. Increasing students’ confidence and levels of independence is central to the role.

Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Vincent House School when required. Please see the link below for our full job description:
