The Director of Quality promotes, develops, and oversees compliance of the company quality system. Assisting in the adherence of customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs, and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality policy, company standards, regulatory and external standards.
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualifications; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Participate in the APQP activities specified within the company process to assure quality from concept to production.
  • Oversee customer required documents such as RoHs, Prop 65, Reach, CBAM, PFAS, TSCA PPAPs, 8D, IMDS submittals, and certificate of compliance forms.
  • Able to effectively interact with Production and Engineering teams to maintain product supply and the introduction of new parts.
  • Sets Quality compliance objectives and ensures that targets are achieved.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Oversee the daily task assignments of direct reports as well as supervise and prioritize tasks as necessary to assure schedule compliance.
  • Interface with all departments (sales, engineering, production) on technical issues, specification requirements, inspection methods and scheduling.
  • Represents the company during all customer and regulatory audits.
  • Reviews customer PO requirements, Terms and Conditions obtained during RFQ process and ensures all quality control and quality assurance activities are consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates analysis and coordinates activities related to process/system improvements.
  • Maintains operations data and prepares productivity/quality reports for management.
  • Manage Internal/External Suppliers nonconformance problem log and RMA Module. Quality Alers system 8D.
  • Review, identify, and follow up and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action request.
  • Implement measures to improve inspection methods, equipment/tool performance, product quality, and efficiency.
  • Leads in the implementation and maintenance of company written Quality and SOP’s.
  • Annual Department Personnel Performance Reviews
  • ISO Management Representative
  • Manage Internal & External Audit Process
  • Facilitate monthly quality meetings.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance on all Quality Gages/Tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing with supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years of statistics, Six Sigma or other analysis experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and documentation maintenance.
  • Experience with basic measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, etc.
  • Experience/understanding of customer drawings, specifications, and basic blueprint reading with knowledge of GD&T concepts.
  • Hands on leadership, management, and team building skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMEA, APQP, and PPAP
  • Background in Environmental CBAM, ROHS, REACH, and CMRT
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

Preferred but not required:

· Understanding of fasteners industry specifications.

· Familiarity with multiple quality accreditations (ISO, A2LA)

· Knowledge of fabrication processes, such as forming, thread rolling, machining, and grinding.
