French Teacher Assistant (Full-Time)

Position Overview
The Teacher Assistant will support the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children in the Early Learning Center. Key responsibilities include assisting with lesson delivery, providing individual and small-group instruction, supervising children, maintaining a clean classroom, and contributing positively to the overall school culture. The ideal candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and have a passion for early childhood education.

Required Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous work experience with preschool-age children
- Bilingual English and French
- Ability to work collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training, degrees, and college coursework in early childhood education
- International and independent school experience
Expectations:
- Work with other teachers and assistants as a contributing team member
- Support a cooperative and positive environment for students
- Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to childhood social, emotional, and intellectual development within an international school setting
- Actively supervise students in class as well as during outdoor activities
- Help provide an organized, clean, safe environment where learning is a priority
- Encourage children to communicate respectfully, develop their self-help skills, while respecting their natural abilities, interests and enthusiasm for learning
- Uphold and reinforce appropriate behavior with students, modeling positive behavior
- Maintain confidentiality in regard to Awty students, parents, colleagues
- Attend staff meetings and school events throughout the school year as needed
- Take on other appropriate duties, such as lunch provision, carpool and bus duty, to name a few, as requested by administration
