Within this position, the Planner will conduct community consultations, recommend policy and guidelines on land use, environmental issues, transportation, and housing, prepare reports on demographic, economic, cultural, and social issues, and prepare plans for developing private land or public spaces.
The ideal candidate will have experience serving as a Municipal / City / Urban Planner and have a thorough understanding of community development. Those with the New Jersey Professional Planner (PP) license and AICP Certification are encouraged to apply, along within those who have the ability and desire to become licensed within the next few years!
- Assist with all aspects of assigned projects, including, but not limited to :
- Review of land use applications for consistency with municipal ordinances
- Development of new and reexamination of existing municipal Master Plans and associated elements
- Application of statutory / regulatory criteria for Redevelopment Area / Rehabilitation Area designations
- Preparation of Redevelopment Plans, analyses for conformance with various governmental programs or designations
- Represent the firm during the public hearing process
- Prepares applications to local land use boards, including planning reports with Variance justifications, for development applications on behalf of private clients
- Serves as Project Manager for assigned projects executing all aspects of project management including communicating with the client, maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines, delivering quality service and products, and meeting budgets
- Coordinate with survey, planning and engineering staff as a part of the application and review process
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates the preparation of reports, maps, activities, or other deliverables for assigned projects
- Employs best practices and standard operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and policies
- Works collaboratively with and supports organizational efforts to develop new markets, secure work and enhance client relationships
