JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the strategic management of all freight modes across the AZEK Company to ensure that the company can consistently deliver our products to our customers to maximize delivery & cost. Evaluates and monitors market conditions to maintain lowest total cost. Evaluates, recommends and manages ongoing relationships with suppliers.
Essential Functions
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering or related field required. MBA desirable.
Professional Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience with strategic sourcing and management of multiple freight modes in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
Additional Qualifications
Experience in managing international inbound and outbound freight management including import/export compliance
Experience in negotiating within all modes of freight
Experience with LTL tariffs, classifications and pricing
Experience with railroad routing and billing
Experience with customs processes and regulations to export and import goods
Strong technical knowledge of front and back end of systems.
Proven success researching data utilizing internal and external sources.
Comprehension of market dynamics and ability to translate the information into meaningful language.
Strong Negotiation Skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $143,000 in our lowest market up to $177,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
Essential Functions
- Serve as lead for sourcing and negotiating contract pricing and terms for all modes of freight.
- Partner with internal stake holders & budget owners to develop and execute continuous improvement plan.
- Analyze global, regional & local market information to understand upstream cost drivers and the effect on market pricing, including supply and demand dynamics. Generate and maintain various top management freight flash reports and monthly market overview reports.
- Conduct global market research to identify potential new suppliers and products with the goal of identifying new and redundant sources of supply based on competitiveness, capability and business needs. Lead cross functional team to implement.
- Conduct supplier survey and scorecard measurement process with key suppliers -driving continuous improvement and project savings opportunities.
- Complete Strategic Sourcing Events for freight and services focusing on Total Cost.
- Negotiate and Award freight contracts and monitor purchases to ensure commitments are made and rebates are maximized. Identify and take advantage of spot buy opportunities as needed.
- Comply with all SOX requirements and approved processes and procedures.
- Maintain professional & productive relations with suppliers and internal customers.
- Manage/update pricing and adjustments and develop means to share information to all parties.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures by creating templates and laying out processes.
