Position Summary
Our Engineering team in Eagan, MN is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for quality improvement activities that promote consistent and predictable product to customers. The successful candidate will partner with other departments to solve Quality issues and improve performance, serve as the technical Quality resource in matters of product testing and product specifications, and use statistical analysis techniques to evaluate and improve test methods and inspection plans.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems and Compliance
Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan that aligns with AZEK’s quality system requirements.
Ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and internal audits of quality systems.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date quality documentation, including inspection records and reports.
Required Experience
Create and document Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Ultralox product lines.
Develop and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
Establish systems for raw material inspection and vendor compliance, driving continuous improvement with vendors and third-party distributors.
Data Analysis and Process Improvement
Utilize statistical tools to measure and analyze quality data in a large team environment.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis and execute Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
Implement process improvements using methodologies like 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Promote a culture of quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with production, R&D, and supplier quality teams to ensure product supply and qualify new production equipment.
Collaborate with Procurement, R&D, and external suppliers to establish quality requirements.
Investigate quality issues, develop corrective action plans, and ensure timely resolution.
Training and Development
Identify and lead quality training programs for manufacturing employees.
Ensure employees are equipped to interpret quality standards and support quality procedures effectively.
Equipment and Tools Management
Maintain and calibrate all measurement tools and devices utilized in the quality system.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $81,000 in our lowest market up to $99,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role in manufacturing or supply chain environment
- Computer Skills: Minitab, MS Office, Quality Window V (or other database skills)
- Certifications and Licenses: CQE, Six Sigma Certifications a plus but not required.

- Evaluate current state of manufacturing quality and supplier quality.
- Six (6) Months:
- Acquire deep understanding of Ultralox products and ability to spot defects.
- Develop inbound material inspection process.
- One (1) Year:
- Baseline site scrap tracking and develop improvement plan.
- Lead supplier quality corrective actions with vendors and show improvement.
