Position Summary:
The Process Engineering Manager, under the strategic direction from the VP of Technology is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by overseeing the Process Engineers and using troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques with the overall objective of improving plant efficiencies. This individual will be required to develop, recommend and implement improvements to production processes, materials, methods and controls.
Your primary duties and responsibilities will be:
- Directs and supports process engineers on site and provides direction on projects involving root cause analysis, SPC, continuous improvement, material qualification, new product development and tooling/equipment design
- Leads projects in tool development/improvement including CAD/CAM design and implementation, project priority and machine time, tuning and tooling/equipment modifications and repair.
- Leads and directs lab personnel for raw material qualification for secondary/ tertiary strategic backups, cost reduction, process improvement relating to rheology, lab extrusion and physical product testing.
- Focuses on improving equipment performance including feeders, extruders and downstream equipment to improve uptime and rate and reduce scrap to improve plant performance
- Works with the Product Management team in the initial concepting to full scale production phase of new product development
- Acts as the primary liaison between external tooling suppliers for new tooling, product improvements and modifications
- Is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of external tooling which ultimately is used for the production of purchased parts.
- Participates in meetings related to plant performance, lead line efforts, engineering topics and special projects
- Serves as key member of Production projects focusing on implementing recommended systems and equipment on model lines to improve performance metrics.
- Communicates with Operators, Leads, Engineers and leadership on areas of potential improvement and researches new equipment and processing methods to address those needs

- Manages line commissioning efforts that occur after Preventive Maintenance event and manages open action item follow-up activities.
- Researches and calculates cost savings opportunities and completes cost savings analysis justification
- Designs auxiliary equipment for improved functionality
- Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
We believe the successful candidate will have:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Engineering or related field
- Experience: 3 years plus in a similar position
- Experience with Die Design and Development, Preferred
- Strong background in manufacturing systems, data collection and statistical analysis in dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success in interfacing with internal (manufacturing, engineering, quality) and external (contractors, vendors) customers.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Understand manufacturing processes and technologies. Knowledge and experience in plastics extrusion.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $126,500 in our lowest market up to $155,500 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
