Description
Works in a cross-functional manner with Plant Management, Planning, Inventory, Shipping, Sourcing, Quality and other departments to ensure continuity of supply while ensuring delivery, cost, quality and lead time objectives from suppliers. Comply with all company safety, quality and environmental standards.
Essential Duties
- Lead raw materials purchasing team
- Approve placement of PO’s to suppliers above certain $s
- Work with suppliers to continually improve delivery performance.
- Conduct inventory audits and assist with organizing the semi-annual audit.
- Provide thought leadership to calculate inventory levels/safety stock levels for raw materials and achieve inventory goals
- Partner with souring to reduce lead times from suppliers
- Develop and maintain department expense budget, while applying measures to continually decrease expenses.
- Approve invoice variances
- Resolve conflicts with suppliers
- Ensure departmental and supply chain continuous improvement activities.
- Promote and ensure conformance to company procedures (work standards, regulations, quality manual).
- Promote and ensure conformance to the company procedures regarding recycling and reducing waste.
- Promote and ensure a safe, clean, harassment free, working environment. Lead and improve department 5C activities
- Effectively communicate with management, direct supervisor, associates and suppliers
- Additional projects assigned by management
Position Qualifications
- Degree in Business Management/related field or equivalent work experience. Degree requirements can be waived if candidate demonstrates proven track record in the job description above
- 8-10 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Up to 10% travel needed domestically
