SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector is responsible for monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing products or materials for the company. Identification of non-conforming material, containment, and proper documentation are critical in this role. Additionally, the Quality Inspector must be a respectful partner with the Production team to be successful.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret Blueprints and Quality Specifications
- Measuring parts every other hour using the Keyence Vision System
- Visual inspection in accordance with acceptance criteria
- Special testing (impact, heat resistance, heat reversion, color)
- Sorting non-conforming material and containing in MRB
- Documenting NCR's after containment
- Communicating appropriately when parts are out of tolerance
- Lead disposition activities and maintain order in MRB process
- Department documentation
- Create, post, and train employees via Quality Alerts
- Collect process data
- Study data correlations
- Process mapping / flow charts
- Lean six sigma activities
QUALIFICATIONS

- Certifications in any of the following are valuable:
- Root Cause Analysis
- Corrective Action
- ISO 9001: 2015
- Internal Auditor
- GD&T
- Lean Six Sigma
- Time management
- The ability to prioritize tasks and work through a backlog while maintaining composure is critical
- Interpersonal skills
- This role is required to be a key player in problem solving and driving continual improvement activities
- Tactful collaboration with Production staff is required to solve problems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The Quality Inspector should be detail oriented and organized, able to track multiple aspects of the job simultaneously. Prior experience in a Quality Inspector role is required. Any experience in Quality System Management is valuable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing instructions, technical data, and blueprints. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as geometric measurements and process output calculations. Ability to perform statistical analysis and perform capability studies.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A current driver’s license is required.
