A busy and caring family in Irvington, NY, is seeking an experienced and resourceful family assistant to help manage their household and provide afterschool support for their three school-aged children. This role requires someone who can handle a dynamic environment with patience, humor, and strong organizational skills.
What They’re Looking For
- A family assistant to support mom, who works part-time, by helping shuttle children to afterschool activities, assisting with homework, and ensuring a smooth afternoon and evening routine.
- Someone experienced with children who face unique challenges, as their oldest child (11) has ADHD and a social communication disorder. She struggles with emotional reactivity, sibling conflicts, and managing frustration, and she benefits from calm, consistent boundaries paired with a playful and empathetic approach.
- Assistance with household tasks while the children are in school, such as tidying, organizing, running errands, and managing children’s laundry or meal prep.
Schedule
- Childcare begins at 3/4 PM, focusing on afterschool activities and evening transitions.
- Minimum of 30 hours per week, with an option for a full-time schedule for someone open to taking on additional family assistant duties.
Compensation
- $35/hour, paid off the books.
- Includes 2 weeks paid vacation and flexibility during family trips.
