Job description
We are seeking an Executive Chef, and multiple Sous Chefs / Line Cooks to join our team! You will thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the brand and reputation that our guests have come to expect. Our ideal candidate is a team-player, attentive, motivated, and hard-working, who has a heart for service. We collaborate as a team to create an environment where our guests can “Sit, Savor and Make a Memory.” All positions must be available to work a variety of shifts and be flexible with the needs of the restaurant. We have both part and full time seasonal openings for sous chefs, and are in need of a full time Executive Chef beginning in March.
Responsibilities include-
- Lead and manage kitchen staff in a productive, consistent manner in compliance with all state, local and federal requirements.
- Cook on the line according to business demands
- Day-to-day culinary operations
- Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
- Assist management in accordance with business needs.
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients
- Assist in the development of menu items
- Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
- Coordinate BOH staff and in admin functions as directed by leadership.
- Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
- Standardize recipes and plate presentations
- Train staff members in all areas of kitchen production, sanitation and cost controls.
- Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests
- Weekly deep cleaning projects
- Follow proper closing procedures, ensuring all goods are locked up and secure
- Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, storage, and coolers
- Check in food deliveries and stocks inventory
Qualifications
- Experience working as a head line cook, sous chef or chef
- High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
- Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
- Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
- Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields
- Knowledge of cost and labor systems
- Passion for food and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days.
Physical Demands and Work Environment-
Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
