What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmers Market Assistant, part time position at The Baker and the Cakemaker?
The Baker and the Cakemaker is an Auburn-based, locally owned artisan bread bakery and café offering fresh farm-to-fork products, artisan breads, pastries and cakes. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and responsible person with a friendly and welcoming personality to assist at our booths at multiple Farmers Market locations.
This person will be responsible for the Farmers Market booth set up/break down including canopy, tables and baskets. We will train you on our products, merchandising, and sales.
The proper candidate for this role will share our enthusiasm for high quality breads and pastries, and will be committed to our culture of teamwork, creativity, and love of good food!
The right candidate would be willing to work Tuesdays and Saturdays immediately, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting in May.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to work early mornings
- Strong willingness to learn with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work quickly, cleanly and efficiently in this fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices preferred
- Must be able to stand/walk for 6 hours and lift at least 50 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual
This is a part time position, ideal for people passionate about quality, locally-sourced and produced sourdough breads and pastries. We welcome individuals who are excited to work in an outdoor environment!
