JOB SUMMARY : The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte welcomes guests with gracious service, elegant accommodations and abundant amenities. The Bell Attendant will assist guests by providing transportation, carrying baggage and disseminating information to achieve guest satisfaction, quality service and compliance with company, franchise and Forbes standards.

JOB DUTIES :
Assists incoming and outgoing guests carrying baggage to and from their rooms; explains features of room to guest ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly; gives location of ice and vending machines; reviews safety procedures.
Explains and promotes hotel facilities, outlets and services to guests as opportunities present themselves to increase guest satisfaction and maximize hotel revenues.
Responds to guest needs including delivery of guest mail / messages, Forget Something items and any other requests received from guests or Guest Services staff.
Provides guest with local directions in a courteous and accurate manner.
Ensures baggage is secured and tagged at guest request to store baggage.
May accept dry cleaning from guest and secure for pick up by dry cleaning company; delivers clean laundry to guest room in a timely manner.
Responds quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and ensures appropriate action is taken. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Follows company policies and procedures.
Note : May be assigned other duties by supervisor or management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License required
Alcohol Awareness Certification
SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Customer Service skills
Good Driving Record
Knowledge of the city including local restaurants and attractions
Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to talk, hear, see, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, reach and perform repetitive motions.
Work is performed both inside and outside where there is exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise.
Able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment.
Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs.

Education
High school diploma or GED preferred
Skills and Experience (Essential)
At least 21 years of age
Must possess valid and current driver-s license
Must be able to read, communicate effectively and have superb interpersonal skills
Must be able to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when resolving guest complaints
