What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Bartender position at The Bank Event Center?
As a Bartender, you are a master of your craft. You welcome guests with genuine warmth and care and engage them with your expertise and catered beverage recommendations. Your purpose is to create a warm, welcoming, and memorable atmosphere for our guests. A bartender at The Bank should have expansive knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor and a passion for serving others. You should adhere to alcohol safety guidelines and food service safety standards. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment as part of a team. Your talent should always be on display and your execution is timely and precise. The bar environment may be demanding, but you rise to the occasion with patience and grace.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism.
- Greet customers promptly in a manner to make them feel welcomed and at home.
- Prepare set-up appropriately at start of shift (i.e., put bottles out, set up garnish tray, check and stock juices, stock glassware, fill ice bin).
- Consistently check bar area for cleanliness and ensure that all necessary items are in place.
- Ensure that all liquor items are stocked and ready to use. Responsible for liquor control and accurate pouring of product.
- Possess clear knowledge of all various liquors, beer, and wines available.
- Assist with the service of food and beverage to guests at the bar, adhering to The Bank’s standards of service.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the a la carte menu, including daily features and specials that may not be available directly on the menu.
- Accurately execute guest orders and requests in a timely fashion in the point-of-sale system.
- Ensure daily assignments and side work is complete in respective areas to meet our standards (i.e., orderly/organized work areas, consistently sanitize work areas, refill/stock containers and supplies, etc.).
- Notify management complaints at the time they occur. Practice good service recovery by rectifying any complaints as soon as possible.
- Reinforce guest identification requirements and age restrictions for alcohol sales in accordance with state law.
- Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guest.
- Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies and procedures.
- Follow all safe food and alcohol handling safety procedures.

Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking
- Occasional stooping, kneeling and crawling
- Occasional ascending or descending of ladders, stairs and/or ramps
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours per shift
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, i.e. case of wine, full ice buckets, etc
- Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and in the process of communicating with guests and employees
- Constant use of POS/Computer systems
- Ability to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays
