Staff Development Description : In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve; the Nurse Educator plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and nursing services to all residents as well as in the facility as a whole. Plans, revises, coordinates, implements, assists with orientation, nursing skills training, in-service education for nursing staff which leads to improved recruitment retention of facility staff and overall reduced turnover.
Infection Control Responsibilities :
1. Serves as expert for Infection Control and Prevention issues.
2. Supports implementation of guidelines for prevention and spread of communicable disease and antibiotic stewardship.
3. Provides Infection Control and Prevention and Antibiotic Stewardship education to staff as needed.
4. Monitors facility infection surveillance data to identify trends / patterns of infections and antibiotic usage.
5. Provides support and guidance on all outbreak issues at the facility level.
6. Conducts audits of facility Infection Control and Prevention and Antibiotic Stewardship programs to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
7. Oversees annual influenza / covid vaccination program for the facility.
- Nebraska unencumbered RN licensed required
- Long Term Care Experience required
- Infection Control Preventionist Training required or can be provided
