Position Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience at our newly opened Louisville location- Louisville Tasting Rom. This position will be creating new cocktails, updating the menus, working with the brand team, and Bar Manager on fulfillment and execution. Training the bartenders on new cocktail creations and staying ahead of trends, as well as crafting a cocktail class in our education room. Must be able to prepare classic and innovative drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to meet customers’ needs and expectations. A friendly personality and outstanding customer service skills are a must.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating seasonal and specialty cocktails and train others
• Work with Bar Manager on supplies, ice and garnishes needed weekly
• Create syrups and garnishes as needed
• Stay ahead of cocktail/bourbon trends and react accordingly
• Monthly bar inventory count
• Entry of monthly bar inventory count
• Assisting with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
• Ensure bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
• Check taps and appliances to confirm that are working properly.
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
• Provide an exceptional guest experience and connect with visitors through education and bar menu selections.
• Pour Flights or Neat pours and discus products in detail.
• Taste and evaluate cocktails before serving
• Set up and work any auxiliary bars as needed
• Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and driving while under the influence.
• Maintain highest health standards, sanitation and cleanliness in the beverage/bar area to meet local, state and government guidelines.
• Taking orders, preparing drinks, bussing tables, and opening tabs.
• Will have access to the safe and responsible for processing cash and credit card payments from customers.
• Available to work private events occurring on off-schedule.
• Participate in continuous training and educational opportunities to further develop mixology concepts.
• Must be willing to take the company-paid course and become certified Stave & Thief Executive Bourbon Steward.
• Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Desired Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
• Must have active listening and effective communication skills, with experience in public speaking a plus.
• Positive interpersonal skills required.
• Be an exceptional communicator.
• Knowledge of principles for providing outstanding customer service.
• Must enjoy working within a team environment, but also be a self-starter.
• A high school diploma and recognized formal certified training program, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a bartender.

• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling.
