A Day In The Life:
You come to work daily with a smile on your face and are excited to help serve our pet parents and their furry friends. You’ll be in our branded gear and help run our lobby and curbside service by greeting everyone as they come in and solving whatever their need is - check-in, check-out, answering questions, booking reservations, and tailoring our service offerings to their needs. Your ultimate goal is to find out how we can best serve the pet parent and provide them solutions. You’ll not only communicate with the dog(s) but also interact with pet parents. You’ll document what you are seeing and be ready to share with your manager and the pet parent. And let’s not forget - you’re probably going to scoop some poop, clean up some pee, go home with some fur on you and get lots of sloppy kisses!
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support exceptional customer service.
- Provide impeccable customer service by following our Service Foundation principles. You will ensure that each customer is treated with respect and dignity to develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Answer all incoming calls and respond to voicemails and emails.
- Make reservations, and book grooming, training, and temperament test appointments.
- Manage credit card transactions, reporting, and reconciling.
- Initiate “white glove” treatment for our preferred customers during peak seasons.
- Get familiar with the clients and their pet’s names.
- Obtain client and pet information and input it into the computer systems.
- Interact and communicate closely with other staff to ensure the client and pet's needs are understood and addressed.
- Have general knowledge of all Bark Shoppe services and be able to provide recommendations.
- Act as liaison between veterinarian and customer/emergency contact, keeping all parties informed when necessary.
- Ensure the facility meets or exceeds expectations of cleanliness and safety.
- Monitor inventory levels.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- MUST have 1-2 years experience working in daycare & boarding facility.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Exceptional customer service experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
- Proven ability to multi-task on client, pet, and safety needs in a fast-paced team environment.
Highly Preferred Skills:
- Boulevard and Shopify platforms experience.
- Animal care/handling experience.
- Front desk or concierge experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comfortable working with pets of all ages, size, and temperament.
- Holds a genuine and sincere interest in pets’ individual needs.
- Ability to communicate directly with clients, both written and orally, about their dog. Working to make customers “lifetime clients”.
- Ability to work as a team player, support all departments as needed.
- Ability to be cheerful, friendly, and have a positive team-oriented attitude, especially in challenging situations.
- Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to take direction well and apply it independently.
- Ability to tolerate being in close contact with various bodily fluids and to get dirty frequently.
- Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to operate Office Software/ Systems.
- Tech Savvy.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Candidates must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per shift or remain physically active at the front desk for extended periods.
- This role requires sustained physical activity and the ability to maintain focus and productivity throughout the shift.
