We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest level of care and attention.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by cleaning cages, kennels, and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
- Support pet sitting services as required, ensuring pets are comfortable and cared for in their own homes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Skills in animal restraint and basic grooming techniques are advantageous.
- Customer service experience is a plus, as interaction with pet owners is an essential part of the role.
- Familiarity with kennel operations or veterinary settings is beneficial but not mandatory.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential.
