Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team for our summer and fall season. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services, providing exceptional support during events, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for food service and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Candidates must be able to commit to working shifts during all events booked from May-October. Shifts take place mostly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items for catering events, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Support the catering team in setting up and breaking down event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, and decorations.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils throughout the event.
- Assist with clean up duties as needed.
Skills
- Experience in restaurant or cafe or catering environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
