JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE : Building & Facilities Supervisor DEPARTMENT : Commodore Facilities
DATE : February 2025 FLSA STATUS : Exempt
JOB PURPOSE :
The Building & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant, external buildings, and property are well maintained. Areas of responsibility include equipment management, facilities and groundskeeping, and FOH and public area maintenance. The Supervisor will report directly to the location's General Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Director of Environment & Facilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversees and prioritizes the property's internal and external daily maintenance, preventive, work orders, repairs and replacement of equipment with hands-on repairs, ensures work is completed in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency.
- Schedule and implement all ongoing preventive and maintenance tasks to ensure completion within established time frames and budget.
- Develop and manage comprehensive daily / weekly / monthly / annual maintenance plans / programs to minimize the impact and down time on equipment and property operations.
- Address concerns and maintain consistent follow-up on any outstanding repairs / projects; responds to emergency work orders, repairs, phone calls and emails with a sense of urgency.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff, external contractors, and property operations team to manage and maintain restaurant equipment and facilities, monitor facility repairs and equipment, and perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance in order to effectively support property operations and maximize value for facilities spend.
- Manage third-party vendor / supplier relationships including sourcing, recommending, selecting, and negotiating contracts on behalf of the Company; also trains vendors on work order and billing procedures and responsible for invoice processing and accuracy of cost center coding.
- Manage and monitor the work performed by outside vendors and contractors on a wide range of items, including but not limited to, restaurant equipment, electrical, HVAC / R, plumbing, building structures, groundskeeping, etc., ensuring accountability, efficient repairs, and quality of work that meets all Company standards.
- Obtain, review and estimate repair costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and preparation. Assist in preparing annual budget.
- Manage the balance between in-house technician and third-party vendor work.
- Implement and ensure compliance of company and industry best standards on safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and guests.
- Perform regular inspections on internal and external building, groundskeeping, equipment, and property inspections and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensures safety, health department and property management issues are handled with high priority and in compliance with all OSHA and city ordinances.
- Keep accurate, up-to-date records on preventative maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintain current inventory of all facility owned assets and equipment.
- Remain familiar with alarm, security and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Willing to function as after-hours contact for facilities emergencies.
- Provides training and works with team members to ensure work performed reflects company service standards and procedures.
- Sets expectations and builds positive accountability in the work environment, enabling employees to perform to the best of their abilities.

- Ensure team members have the tools and resources they need to perform; remove obstacles.
