Job Summary:
As the Floor Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our retail team while also overseeing the Footwear Department. This position combines the responsibility of managing daily sales floor operations, mentoring staff, and overseeing daily tasks to ensure smooth store functioning. You’ll drive exceptional customer service, provide specialized knowledge within the footwear department, and offer leadership and guidance to the team. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with our footwear buyer to ensure the best product selection and inventory levels for our customers.
Floor Manager Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and inspire a team of sales associates to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and performance feedback.
- Encourage ongoing learning and development for team members to enhance their product knowledge and sales skills.
- Create a positive and motivating work environment that aligns with The Base Camp's values.
- Act as a secondary liaison for staff, addressing their concerns, and providing the necessary support to ensure a positive work environment.
Sales & Customer Experience
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, assisting customers with finding the right footwear for their needs.
- Resolve customer issues and concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge to provide expert advice and recommendations.
- Drive sales to meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Analyze sales trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
Project Delegation & Management
- Collaborate closely with the assistant manager and department leads to set crew assignments and oversee project delegation to maintain efficient operations including daily to-do lists and communicating closely on long-term goals.
- Take the lead on identifying, communicating, and delegating tasks.
- Hold daily team meetings to discuss tasks and ongoings within the store.
- Monitor the progress of delegated tasks and create ongoing to-do lists to ensure the sales floor is clean and tidy and that merchandise is stocked.
- Optimize project completion based on customer traffic and staffing levels.
- Monitor customer engagement and provide proactive leadership to ensure every customer receives exceptional service throughout their visit.
- Ensure a high level of productivity within staff on the sales floor; ensure no staff member is idle.
- Lead opening and closing store responsibilities, including till management and building security.
- Monitor music selection to ensure a positive employee and customer atmosphere.
- Properly use phone systems including: screening and routing calls, and take messages properly. Answer phone within 4 rings; excuse yourself from customers as necessary.
- Understand and proficiently navigate the POS system, handling purchases, adding customer data, and processing returns and exchanges as needed.
Footwear Department Lead Key Responsibilities:Department Management
- Oversee daily operations of the footwear department, ensuring a well-organized and visually appealing sales floor and back room.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the footwear buyer to ensure proper inventory levels and styles, communicating trends and overall needs of the department.
- Monitor department sales and performance, setting goals and implementing strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies to showcase products, drive sales, and maximize profit.
Merchandising & Sales
- Collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser to create engaging displays that highlight key products and drive sales.
- Help plan and execute promotional events, sales, and product launches to increase department visibility and engagement.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Inventory Management
- Conduct yearly inventory count and audits to ensure efficient product movement..
- Coordinate with lead footwear buyer and management to manage stock replenishments, transfers, and markdowns.
- Work closely with lead footwear buyer and management to ensure proper stock levels, merchandise placement, and inventory accuracy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
