As the Payroll/Prevailing Wage Coordinator for Solid Ground Solutions, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws, and coordinating related administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, prevailing wage regulations, and labor law compliance, especially within the construction and foundation repair industries.

The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, and able to navigate complex regulations while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Administration:

  • Process payroll for multiple companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and verify timecards, commissions, bonuses, and other payroll-related documentation.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, including tax withholdings, overtime, and deductions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all payroll-related transactions.
  • Manage direct deposit and manual check processes.

Prevailing Wage Compliance:

  • Serve as the point of contact regarding prevailing wage requirements, compliance, and inquiries.
  • Stay up to date with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws, particularly as they apply to the foundation repair industry.
  • Review and ensure that job classifications, wage rates, and fringe benefits are in compliance with applicable prevailing wage requirements.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government contracts, ensuring compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act and state/local prevailing wage laws.
  • Assist with auditing and verifying that all labor classifications and wage rates on construction projects are accurate and in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Communicate with field teams, project managers, and HR to ensure accurate reporting and documentation related to prevailing wage.

Coordinate with external auditors or government agencies for wage rate verifications and payroll audits.

  • Assist employees with questions or concerns regarding payroll and prevailing wage matters.
  • Educating contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams on prevailing wage requirements, payroll procedures, and compliance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS ON REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 1-3 years of Prevailing Wage experience required
  • At least 1-3 years of human resources experience required
  • At least 1-3 years of ADP Workforce Now experience required
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS systems.
  • Exhibits excellent judgment; ability to manage confidential information
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
  • Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and HRIS Databases
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods and be able to navigate the office.
