Part-Time Seasonal Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher

Steward position is to ensure the kitchen area is clean and neat, as well as in compliance with health codes and the high standards of The Bay Hill Club. Employee will be responsible for cleaning cookware and washing dishes using the appropriate equipment and ensuring that the proper water temperature and chemical amounts are used.

Primary Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

· Exhibit cleanliness and appropriate behaviors.

· Assist cooks, chef and kitchen managers in the preparation of food as instructed.

· Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in employee changing rooms/restrooms and back-of-the-house employee areas, as well as the dumpster and receiving area.

· Insure that daily, weekly and monthly cleaning list tasks are completed.

· Keep equipment, floor and work areas clean and in good working order at all times.

· Wash all dishes, pots and pans to ensure proper supply levels to operate Food & Beverage Department efficiently.

· Assist in storing grocery and supply items.

· Understands local and state Board of health requirements and insures these policies are followed correctly.

· Perform any other duties that may be required by management from time to time.

Qualifications and Characteristics Required

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate the he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

· Minimum 1-year of previous work experience with kitchen or cleaning position desired.

· Ability to communicate well enough to follow directions, understand co-workers and react to safety issues.

· Ability to handle and manipulate heavy items and cleaning equipment for prolonged periods of time.

· Ability to work well with staff and contribute to a positive “team environment”.

Physical/Mental Requirements

· Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 60 lbs.

· Must be able to endure long periods of standing, sitting and walking.
