Summary
The main purpose of this job is to arrange flooring in cartons to proper specifications without denting or damaging the material. Make sure boxes are filled with the correct square footage of flooring. This position requires a quick, coordinated and careful person.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Stations 1-4 must pack 70 cartons per hour as wood flow is available
b. Scan panels for grading mistakes.
c. Report any problems with grading or manufacturing process to Line Lead, Quality Control or Supervisor personnel.
d. Station 5 will pack wood from the end match table. Packer at station 5 will be responsible for making sure that all bevels from the end match are stained and any issues will be brought to the end match operator, Finishing Goods QC Technician, Jr Supervisor and/or Supervisor.
e. Fill box to correct amount of square footage, (pack nesting stations 1 & 2 must put installation instructions in every carton
f. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical/Safety Requirements:
1. Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and stoop several times a day.
2. Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours a day.
3. Must be able to lift 1-10 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day (handling materials).
4. Must be able to visualize defects in the product while material is moving.
5. Must be able to safely work around moving machinery and focus on the importance of hand safety.
6. Must be able to work in industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations
7. Must be able to follow all other general plant safety requirements.
