Job Title: Day Shift Canter Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Canter Supervisor to join our team. The Canter Supervisor will oversee the operation of the canter equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe processing of logs into desired timber sizes. This role requires a strong understanding of sawmill operations, mechanical skills, and leadership ability to manage a team effectively.
Primary Duties:
- Oversee the daily operation of the canter machine, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient processing of logs. Supervise the feeding, cutting, and alignment of logs to achieve optimal timber dimensions.
- Lead and manage a team of canter operators and other sawmill staff, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure all team members follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and comply with all company and industry safety standards. Address and resolve any safety concerns promptly.
- Track production rates and logs are processed, ensuring that targets are met while minimizing downtime and waste. Work with management to adjust production schedules and workflows as needed.
- Resolving conflicts and addressing employee concerns

- Reporting on team progress and performance to upper management
