Salary :
The Payroll Specialist accurately issues pay to employees by calculating earnings and deductions in accordance with established practices and guidelines. Performs various payroll related duties as assigned.
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Performs data entry and reconciles timesheets
- Performs data entry on new hires
- Reports all new hires on a weekly basis
- Performs and maintains data entry on mechanics payroll
- Processes and mails cash slip payments
- Communicates with internal departments to obtain necessary information
- Sorts and mails paychecks
- Tracks, processes payment and reports on per diem
- Sends out active per diem letters
- Processes unemployment claims
- Assists with audit preparation
- Assists with sorting and mailing fringe checks
- Enters and processes union raises
- Answers inquiries from employees and outside organizations
- Assists with filing and maintaining employee files
- Performs receptionist and mail rotation
- Other tasks as assigned
