Beck is looking for a skilled Senior Project Accountant to join our exceptional team and manage financial operations on some of our largest and most complex projects. You will play an essential role in overseeing financial reporting, budget control, and billing processes while supporting our project managers. This position requires strong project accounting experience, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently to ensure successful project delivery.

Frequently required to sit, stand, and move about the office; frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently lift and move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and move up to fifty pounds; constantly communicates with project and operations teams, Beck employees, and external vendors; ability to adhere to timely and consistent attendance.

Beck is looking for a skilled Senior Project Accountant to join our exceptional team and manage financial operations on some of our largest and most complex projects. You will play an essential role in overseeing financial reporting, budget control, and billing processes while supporting our project managers. This position requires strong project accounting experience, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently to ensure successful project delivery.
As a Senior Project Accountant, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing all aspects of project accounting independently, including job billing, accounts receivable, cash flow, job cost, accounts payable, and subcontract management.
- Partnering with project managers to create and issue subcontracts, manage subcontract change orders, establish budgets, and handle change items.
- Reviewing and analyzing WIP (Work in Progress) reports to identify and mitigate risks that could impact project profitability.
- Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing and coordinating the necessary financial information.
- Attending Contract Watchlist meetings and contributing to risk assessment and management of watchlist documents.
- Mentoring junior accounting staff and potentially supervising their development.
- Budget management for design and integrated projects, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for managing financial details in the construction or architecture industry. To succeed in this role, you meet the following requirements:
- 12 years in project or cost accounting, ideally within construction or architecture, managing complex and high-value projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP, contract documentation, lien laws, and project budget-cost-billing relationships. Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power BI) is essential.
